Peter Young, a former editor at The New York Times, is a deputy team leader at Bloomberg News, the leading provider of financial news and one of the world's largest news organizations.
He was a founding editor of The New York Times on the Web, the most popular U.S. newspaper website, as its first news editor in 1996. He was later editor of The New York Times Upfront, a news magazine for teens. He taught journalism at New York University.
Previously, Young held management editing positions at the Monterey (CA) County Herald, Fort Worth Star-Telegram, Macon (GA) News, Houston Chronicle, The Trentonian, The(Troy, NY) Record, (Cherry Hills, NJ) Courier-Post and The Daily Journal in Kankakee, IL.
Under his leadership as executive editor, the Monterey Herald won awards for public service reporting, editorial comment, column writing and photography. The Daily Journal won more than 100 awards including best newspaper of its size in Illinois.
Personal awards include investigative, public service, analytical and features reporting from leading journalism organizations in Illinois and Georgia. He holds a degree from Governors State University in University Park, IL, and lives in San Francisco.
